Primary Four get ready for rationing
23rd Sep 2021
As part of our World War 2 topic; ‘Through the Eyes of a Child’, we have been looking at how people’s lives were affected as a result of war.
This week we have been focusing on how rationing became part of everyday life and how much it affected everyone. We discussed how hungry we might feel towards the end of our rations and came up with a plan, we could plant our own food and become self sufficient!
We planted beetroot, broccoli, potatoes, carrots, cabbages and courgettes. A massive thanks to Siobhan Denvir who helped us plant them, sharing with us her fantastic green fingered tips. We look forward to harvesting and cooking them ☺️
