OUTDOOR CAROL SERVICE - ONE WEEK TO GO!
One week to go for our Outdoor Christmas Carol Service which will take place on Thursday 15th December at 6:30pm at Ballinderry Community Hub. There is a real festive atmosphere around Derrychrin PS at the moment, with the children practising their Christmas carols and songs. Our instrumentalists are practising their Christmas tunes playing their tin whistles and guitars under the expertise of Donal Canavan and Miss Hughes. Our school Choir will also be performing on the night!
Please read the important information below for the Christmas Carol Service on Thursday 15th December 2022, Ballinderry Community Hub at 6:30pm
P4/5/P6/P7children involved in the Tin Whistle and Guitar Music group should arrive for 6pm.
All other children in P1-P7 should arrive at the Community Hub for 6:15pm.
Children will enter the Community Hub and line up in their class lines supervised by staff. They will remain in the Community Hub until it is their turn to perform with their class.
All children are to wear Christmas jumpers/clothing/Santa hats. We would ask parents to bring a coat for their child to wear after they have finished their performance.
Parents should collect their child/children from the stage at the end of their class performance. Parents are responsible for their children for the remainder of the Carol Service, and we would kindly ask in the interests of safety that children are supervised at all times.
Christmas Carol Service Tickets
Christmas Carol Service Tickets (£5 per adult–children free) are available from the school office. We would ask all parents/guardians to please pre-purchase tickets to avoid delays at entrance gates on the night.
Parents/guardians can send ticket requests into school with their child along with enclosed money and the school office will issue the tickets.
Car Parking
Stewards from Ballinderry Shamrocks GAC and Friends of Derrychrin PTA will assist with car parking and other duties on the night. We would ask everyone to please follow directions and advice to ensure the safety of everyone attending the event.
We would like to thank the Ballinderry Shamrocks Club and Friends of Derrychrin PTA for their assistance and support in preparing for our Carol Service.

Christmas Draw
Christmas Raffle tickets will be available on the night. The Christmas Draw will take place at the end of the Carol Service with fantastic prizes to be won. We would like to thank everyone who kindly donated prizes for the Christmas Raffle. Christmas Draw tickets are £1 each or a book of 10 for £10.
Additional Information
- John O’Neill will be in attendance to take photos of the children on the night.
- Michael Glackin will provide sound and lighting on the night.
- Tea and Coffee will be available from 68 Bakes Homemade Bakes & Cakes trailer.
We have attached the Carol Service Running Order for the night and an aerial view map to inform parents/carers and family members of car parking arrangements on the night.
