Ditch the Dark Day 2022
What an amazing response from our children, parents and staff today for ‘Ditch the Dark Day’ 2022. You would have needed sunglasses coming into school this morning with the bright and fluorescent colours the children had donned.π
Steven from SUSTRANS visited to greet us all this morning and he said that he was blown away by the effort put in by everyone to ditch the car and actively come to school. He said that 81% of the whole school travelled by foot, bike or scooter which was amazing. Our P7 statistics Pauric, Larissa and Molly carried out a survey last week and this week and were pleasantly surprised to see the number of cars entering the school gates dropped from 55 to just 22. πβ
Thank you everyone for your efforts today. The aim is to make ‘Active Travel’ a way of life, it helps our physical and mental health and helps to lower carbon emissions in turn helping the planet. π Hopefully it has inspired us to try to incorporate more days of active travel to school π²π΄πΆ
