Class of 2023 End of Year Celebration
Class of 2023 End of Year Celebration
Today we had the End of Year celebration for our wonderful P7 children as we bid farewell to the Class of 2023. It was a lovely occasion to have the children and their parents celebrate the special Mass. Thank you to Fr. Donnelly for celebrating the joyous Mass.
Well done to all the children in their roles as readers, saying the Prayers of the Faithful, Offertory and to our Choir and instrumental group. A massive thank to Miss Hughes for preparing the children so well always.
Afterwards the pupils and their parents come together for refreshments and presentations in the school hall. They also got the opportunity to watch the wonderful ‘Leaver’s video produced by Eamon McGarrity which included songs when they started P1 in 2016 and also songs from 2023 as they end their primary school journey.
Thank you to our canteen staff, Margaret, Ann-Marie and Josie for providing delicious food and refreshments for everyone.
Thank you to Gemma and Keelin for organising the lovely balloons and preparing the gift bags which included delightful cupcakes baked by Erin at ‘Bridge Bakes’ and the ‘Class of 2023’ Leaver’s Tops. Thank you also to Siobhan for preparing the hall and tables/chairs.
A massive thank you to all the teaching staff and non-teaching staff for their care and dedication throughout their children’s time at Derrychrin PS. A special mention of gratitude must go to P7 class teacher Mr. O’Neill and teaching assistant Keelin, for their kindness and dedication in the children’s final year.
On behalf of all the staff, pupils, Board of Governors and whole Derrychrin school community, we thank all the children for being fantastic ambassadors and great role models. It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our wonderful P7 pupils but we wish them every success, joy and happiness as they begin a new chapter in their lives. We will miss you all very much.
Please always remember our door will always be open and you will welcome back to Derrychrin any time. Take care and stay safe!
